|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Page Ayres Cowley Architects, LLC, is a full service architectural firm specializing in the design, adaptive re-use and restoration of historic buildings. The firm has met the criteria as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) with several New York and New Jersey agencies. Because so much of the firm’s work involves the rehabilitation and preservation of cultural heritage properties, the firm has developed a special expertise in related disciplines of master planning, preparation of design guidelines, interpretation of historic sites and the impact of tourism at historic sites, both on the interior of landmarked structures and the visitor amenities required to support the visitor experience. Unlike historic building consultants, the firm is staffed by qualified and trained architects who have both academic qualifications and professional experience. These skills are augmented by in-house conservators and construction managers who participate at different phases of the project working alongside the project managers. To supplement the design and restoration experience, the firm also offers other skills that are essential to any successful restoration, rehabilitation or addition to an historic structure. These skills include research, building documentation, conditions assessments, materials testing and surveys, as well as the preparation of Historic Structures Reports. The diverse client base is testimony
to the breadth, capability and scale of the projects. Historic Preservation
as a discipline permits the firm to work on a variety of building types
which include Landmarked subway and railroad stations, park features
and monuments, conservatories, churches, culturally sensitive sites
and museums. The range of interventions includes stabilization, restoration,
rehabilitation, and adaptive re-use as well as new construction. Their
client base has grown in recent years to an international practice
with projects in the United Kingdom and Russia. |
