York City Farm Colony Part of the New York City Farm Colony – Seaview Hospital Historic District, the NYC Farm Colony is a 98-acre site containing 13 masonry buildings built between the 1890’s –1930’s and in various states of decay. Page Ayres Cowley Architects was retained by the NYC Economic Development Corporation to prepare a Reuse Study for the property and structures including an historical summary of the evolution of the Farm Colony, existing conditions analysis of each building, a phased stabilization master plan and design guidelines for new development. The NYC Farm Colony Reuse Study is expected to be adopted by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission at a public hearing sometime in 2003 to guide protection and future development. |
