Reconstruction of original facade to F.S. Barus design of 1872

This Italianate row house was substantially modified in 1949 by Holden, McLaughlin & Assoc. when the metal cornice, stoop, parlor floor entrance, and window ornamentation was removed. The entire facade was also stuccoed with a thick cementitious coating which concealed substantial damage to brownstone behind. Page Ayres Cowley Architects, LLC were commissioned to design replicated features and repair the load-bearing wall. Lost ornamentation was replaced using cast stone units simulating the original brownstone in color and texture.
